Creative Intent Before Any Tool Is Opened

Every TALL generative AI project begins identically to any other project: with a brief, a defined audience, and an emotional outcome we are working toward. We do not open a single tool until the creative intent is documented and agreed. This matters because generative AI is extremely responsive to the quality of creative thinking behind it. A vague intention produces vague output at scale. A precise, emotionally clear intention produces a narrow target to direct toward, and it is direction, not generation, that determines whether the work is any good. We write a creative brief for every AI project the same way we would for a live-action shoot.

Prompt Engineering As Creative Craft

TALL treats prompt writing as a creative discipline equivalent to shot listing or scriptwriting. A prompt is not a description of what you want. It is an instruction written in the specific vocabulary of the model you are using, shaped by an understanding of how that model processes language and visual references. Our prompts are built iteratively across multiple sessions, with each pass refining the language, the reference structure, and the constraint set. We maintain prompt libraries for each project that function like shot-list archives: documented, versioned, and retrievable. What looks like one beautiful frame usually has forty failed versions behind it.

Art Direction and Output Curation

Generation produces volume. Art direction produces a film. TALL’s creative director reviews output across every generation pass with the same critical eye applied to rushes from a live shoot: what carries the feeling, what is technically accomplished but emotionally empty, what is interesting but wrong for this brief. Selected frames are refined through additional passes, composited with live elements where required, and graded before they enter the edit. The final selection rate on a TALL Gen AI project is typically below five percent of total outputs. The rest does not make it because it does not deserve to.

Post-Production and The Human Finish

Generated content enters TALL’s standard post-production pipeline: editing, colour grading, sound design, and motion work are applied with the same standard we hold our live-action output to. AI-generated footage is never delivered raw. It is treated as production material that requires the same creative finishing as anything shot on a camera. The result is work that feels authored and considered, not assembled by a machine and submitted to a client. Music is licensed. Sound design is built. The film is graded to a consistent visual identity. What is delivered is a finished piece of communication, regardless of how the images were made.
